Chat with GARY in CORAS Light

Start a GARY conversation from the CORAS Light home screen. Choose Generic Chat or Data Chat depending on whether you need Gary to work with a specific data context.

Generic Chat vs. Data Chat

• Generic Chat — A standard Gary conversation. No data context required. Gary responds based on what you type and any files you attach.

• Data Chat — A Gary conversation scoped to a data context you define — specific lists, fields, and files. Gary uses that context to answer questions about your data.

Send a message

1. Open a chat from the home screen or start a new one.

2. Type your message in the composer.

3. Press Enter or tap Send.

Your draft is saved automatically — if you navigate away mid-message, it will be there when you return.

Attach a file

1. In the composer, tap the attach icon.

2. Select your file.

Each attached file shows a status chip as it processes:

• Uploading — the file is being uploaded

• Processing — the upload pipeline is finishing

• Ready — the file is available for Gary to use

The Send button is disabled until every attached file reaches Ready. If a file fails, remove it or try again before sending.

Stop a response

Press ESC or click the stop control. A confirmation modal appears — press Enter to confirm, or ESC to let GARY continue.
